Rinaldo bought Fazenda Furnas in 2003 and after the 2019 harvest he travelled to Costa Rica to learn first-hand from the farmers there about water treatment and drying efficiencies in processing. This lot has been processed using the pulped natural method during which the cherry skin and fruit are removed, and the sticky parchment-covered beans are left to dry naturally. The final stage is the removal of the dried parchment before the coffee is graded, bagged, and shipped to the UK.
